And even better, there are no signs of slowing down. Historically, as the economy worsens, the demand for apartment living increases.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Especially in high demand are more affordable and mid-grade options such as podium products or garden style apartments. Popular in both cities and suburbs that support those working from home.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Owners and managers of multifamily housing are dealing with the skyrocketing number of tenants who are working from home in a number of ways.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>A 2021 survey by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bdcnetwork.com\/amenitiessurvey2021earlyreturns\">Building Design and Construction<\/a>, shows how the respondents are handling the new &#8220;work from home&#8221; tenants:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1222\" src=\"http:\/\/www.swetconstructiongroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/shutterstock_225705646-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/swetconstructiongroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/shutterstock_225705646-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/swetconstructiongroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/shutterstock_225705646-1024x678.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>In-residence work nooks<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Privatized work\/study spaces on each floor to serve work from home<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Outdoor workstations<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Larger apartment unit sizes to accommodate work from home<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Isolation rooms for shared living units<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Others have installed outdoor fitness options, placed sanitizing stations around their communities, and\u00a0added touchless access controls.
