What will this generation of consumers be looking for in <a href=\"http:\/\/swetconstructiongroup.com\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\">multi-family housing<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>Schlage polled 1,000 U.S renters and found Millennials want high tech and smarter apartments, as well as the latest control features.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.consumeraffairs.com\/news\/what-are-millennials-looking-for-in-a-rental-113016.html\" target=\"_blank\">Consumer Affairs<\/a>, \u201cThese findings are significant,\u00a0considering nearly half of renters in multi-family dwellings are expected to rent an apartment for the next five or more years, Schlage noted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1222\" src=\"http:\/\/www.swetconstructiongroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/shutterstock_225705646-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"shutterstock_225705646\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/swetconstructiongroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/shutterstock_225705646-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/swetconstructiongroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/shutterstock_225705646-1024x678.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Among the study\u2019s additional findings:<br \/>\n\u2022 55% of Millennials are likely to pay more for an apartment that has high-tech door locks compared to ones that did not.<br \/>\n\u2022 20% of Millennials would pay more per month for a smart apartment. On average, they would be willing to pay about a fifth more for smart home features.<br \/>\n\u2022 44% of Millennials would give up a parking space to live in a \u201chigh tech\u201d apartment.<\/p>\n<p>Whether it&#8217;s new construction or renovations of an existing property, it is important to ensure your multi-family housing fits the needs of the tenants. Besides updated technology and living close to great dining and shopping, Millennials will also be looking other amenities.<\/p>\n<p>More efficient space is important. Instead of lots of square footage, a well designed space with plenty of shelving and storage built into walls, as well as, energy efficient appliances.<\/p>\n<p>Common areas, from public hangouts, workspaces, open lobbies, rooftop decks, and community rooms.<\/p>\n<p>Millennials are on the go, they want to stay in shape and look great. They want top of the line fitness \u00a0equipment, yoga, Pilates, and fun full body workouts.<\/p>\n<p>Millennials love their pets.
