From downsizing to an adult community or continuing care environment, they will be looking for three must have amenities.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1105\" src=\"http:\/\/www.swetconstructiongroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/4.png\" alt=\"4\" width=\"250\" height=\"212\" \/>Dr. Jeffery Rosenfeld, an environmental gerontologist says, \u201cBoomers don\u2019t want to buy into the kind of housing that was done by their grandparents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Adaptable space:<\/strong> Since baby boomers will be looking for a home office space that easily converts into extra space, possibly or a guest room when family comes to visit. \u201cOr this could be an ideal place for a caregiver to live,\u201d says Dr. Rosenfeld. \u201cThey\u2019re looking for space that is not just multi-purpose for a week or a weekend, but over the long haul.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Homey Finishes:<\/strong> Baby boomers will be looking for the comforts of home, but will need a very manageable space. Dr. Rosenfeld calls this concept &#8220;bistro living&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1005\" src=\"http:\/\/www.swetconstructiongroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/3.jpg\" alt=\"3\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" \/>\u201cBistro living means living in houses or homes that are down-sized but no less luxurious,\u201d he says. \u201cThey\u2019re smaller but not skimping in any way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They will be looking for the high end finishes, up to date appliances, granite countertops, but they will also need grab bars. \u201cGrab bars don\u2019t look like your Grandmother\u2019s anymore,\u201d Dr. Rosenfeld says. \u201cThey want and need these things because they know what the future is going to bring and they want items that are functional but don\u2019t look geriatric.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Access:<\/strong> Demographics will be important, being close enough to walk to shopping and restaurants will be high on their priority list.\u00a0\u201cWe are seeing the beginning of communal arrangements of boomers finding places where they, and their friends, can build and design and live in homes close to one another,\u201d Rosenfeld says.<\/p>\n<p>The expert management team at <a href=\"http:\/\/swetconstructiongroup.com\/contact.html\" target=\"_blank\">SWET Construction Group <\/a>understands the current trends and best investments.
