According to the Orlando Business Journal, “Central Florida’s hotel industry will continue its growth well into 2016, according to a forecast by research firm STR Global. Local occupied room nights are expected to increase 3 percent in 2016 — a healthy growth rate for the industry, according to data provided by Visit Orlando, Central Florida’s tourism bureau. In addition, occupancy rates will reach 77.1 percent in 2016 — higher than the projected 76.6 percent projected for this year.
That’s a healthy occupancy rate that is low enough to keep prices competitive, but high enough to spur more investment in properties to meet future demand. That means the need for more Central Florida hotel rooms will continue to rise for the region, and new hotel projects.”

In a resent article in Hotel Online, “Orlando-area hotels are expected to outperform the industry’s national growth in 2016, according to data from STR, Inc., a company that globally tracks the industry. Orlando’s hotels occupancy rate is expected to be 78.2 percent, up 1.2 percent from last year. Meanwhile, STR is predicting a 0.6 percent increase in occupancy nationwide, bringing the U.S. rate to about 66 percent.”
